Once threatened by oil spills , Magellanic penguins now face a large threat as the fishes are being displaced by warming ocean currents and the penguins have to swim about extra 25 miles (40 km ) to find food. About 20,00-22,000 of Magellanic penguins die each year as a direct result of oil contaminated water. At present 12 of 17 penguin species are experiencing rapid population declines.

Pacific Walrus ( Odobenus rosmarus ) is a large flippered marine mammal. The walrus is the only living specie in the Odobenidae family and Odobenus genus. They live mostly in the shallow waters above the Continental shelves, spending significant amount of their lives on sea ice looking forbenthic bivalve molluskus to eat.
